Why does a try-on result look wrong?
A weak preview can come from the selected product or variant, product imagery, the shopper photo, a browser/upload problem, a generation error, or a known limitation of visual try-on. Change one input at a time so you can identify the cause.Check the selected item
- Confirm the product and variant match the preview request.
- Review whether the product images clearly show the chosen color, pattern, silhouette, and important details.
- Try another available product image or angle if the merchant controls allow it.
- Test a second product to determine whether the problem is isolated.
Check the shopper photo
Use a clear photo of one real person with the body area relevant to the product visible. Avoid heavy blur, darkness, obstruction, extreme crops, or multiple people. A full-body photo is not required for every product, but the model needs enough visible context to place the item.Check the upload path
The current storefront handles common formats including JPG, PNG, HEIC, and WebP. If selection or upload fails, verify browser permission, retry with a smaller clear image, and compare another current browser or device.Set the right expectation
The generated Looksy image creates a visual preview. It does not measure the shopper from their photo, predict a clothing size from that image, or guarantee fit, drape, texture, or color under every condition. When configured, the separate Size Recommendations feature compares measurements entered by the shopper with the merchant’s reviewed product size chart. Keep size charts, garment measurements, fabric details, and return-policy information available.Escalate with useful evidence
Before contacting Looksy support, collect:- store, product, and variant URL;
- theme and product template;
- device, browser, time, and timezone;
- exact error text or a screenshot of the preview;
- whether another product or photo works;
- the troubleshooting steps already tried.
