Is a Looksy result an exact fit prediction?

No. The generated virtual try-on image is a visualization aid, not a measurement tool or a guarantee of exact fit, colour, texture, drape, or appearance. Shoppers should still use the merchant’s size guide and product information. Looksy’s separate Size Recommendations feature compares measurements entered by the shopper with a merchant-reviewed product size chart. It does not infer body measurements from the shopper’s photo or guarantee that a garment will fit.

What can affect the result?

  • shopper image quality, lighting, pose, framing, and occlusion;
  • product image quality and consistency;
  • garment shape, construction, texture, and layering;
  • selected product or variant data;
  • processing errors or unsupported edge cases.

How should merchants set expectations?

Describe virtual try-on as a way to visualize a style. Describe Size Recommendations as a chart-based suggestion, not a promise of fit. Avoid wording such as “perfect fit,” “100% accurate,” or “exactly how it will look.” Keep sizing, materials, colours, and return information visible.

How can I evaluate quality?

  1. Test representative products and variants.
  2. Use different shopper images and devices.
  3. Record recurring failure patterns.
  4. Ask whether the result helps the intended product decision.
  5. Exclude products that do not provide an acceptable experience.
Looksy does not guarantee a specific conversion lift or return-rate reduction. Measure outcomes with your own store data.
