What images work best with Looksy?

Use clear product imagery and a clear photo of one person. Looksy can use existing Shopify product images, but image quality, visibility, category, framing, and the shopper photo can all affect the result.

Product-image guidance

Prefer images that:
  • show the intended product clearly rather than as a small part of a scene;
  • make color, pattern, silhouette, and important details visible;
  • avoid heavy obstruction by props, hands, text, or other products;
  • include useful alternate views when they add information;
  • represent the selected variant accurately.
Flat lays and model photography can both be useful. Review the actual preview rather than assuming one format is always better.

Shopper-photo guidance

Ask the shopper to use an image that:
  • contains one real person;
  • clearly shows the body area relevant to the product;
  • is not heavily blurred, dark, cropped, or obstructed;
  • uses a supported image file that the upload control accepts;
  • was shared with the person’s permission.
The storefront currently handles common formats including JPG, PNG, HEIC, and WebP, but browser and device behavior can vary.

What to do with a weak result

  1. Confirm the correct product and variant were selected.
  2. Retry with a clearer shopper photo.
  3. Review another product image or angle if the merchant controls allow it.
  4. Check whether the product category or styling is listed in Looksy’s limitations.
  5. Record the product URL, variant, device/browser, time, and screenshot before contacting support.
A sharper image can improve the information available to the model, but no resolution, background, or lighting setup guarantees an accurate preview.
