Getting Started with Looksy

Looksy is AI virtual try-on for Shopify. Customers upload a photo and see how your products look on them. The app works out of the box with zero configuration.

Installation (2 Minutes)

Step 1: Install from Shopify App Store

  1. Visit the Looksy app page on the Shopify App Store
  2. Click Add app
  3. Approve the installation in your Shopify admin
  4. You’ll land in the Looksy dashboard
You’re automatically subscribed to the free plan (25 credits).

Step 2: Enable the Try-On Button

The “Try On” button displays on your product images. Enable it using Shopify’s app embed:
  1. During onboarding, click the button that takes you directly to app embeds
  2. Find Looksy Try-On Button in the app embeds list
  3. Toggle it on
  4. Click Save
That’s it. The button now appears on all product pages.
The button uses your theme’s styling (fonts, colors) by default. You can customize it later if needed.

Step 3: Test It

  1. Visit any product page on your store
  2. Click Try On (button appears on the product image)
  3. Upload a selfie
  4. Wait 15-20 seconds for the result

How It Works

When a customer clicks “Try On”:
  1. They upload a photo
  2. Looksy validates the image (must be one person, human, showing enough body)
  3. The image and your product images (max 4) run through our image-to-image AI model
  4. The processed result displays on the product page
Image validation protects your credits. If the image is unsuitable (cartoon, animal, multiple people, insufficient body showing), the customer gets an error explaining what’s wrong.

Managing Products

By default, Looksy enables all products. This works for most stores.

Disable Specific Products

If certain products don’t work well with try-on, disable them:
  1. Go to Products in your Looksy admin
  2. Find the product you want to disable
  3. Toggle it off
Revealing products may struggle: Lingerie, swimwear, and very revealing garments might fail to generate results. This protects against misuse. Disable these products if you encounter issues.

Select Specific Products Only

To use try-on on only certain products:
  1. Go to Products in your Looksy admin
  2. Click Disable All
  3. Enable only the products you want

Customizing the Button

The button uses your theme’s styling by default. To customize:
  1. Go to your Looksy dashboard
  2. Click Customize button
  3. Adjust settings:
Position:
  • Top Left
  • Top Right
Text & Colors:
  • Button Text (default: “Try On”)
  • Text & Icon Color
  • Background Color
Advanced:
  • Icon Style (Sparkle / No Icon)
  • Icon Size & Weight
  • Font Size & Weight
  • Font Family (uses Store Body Font by default)
  • Border Radius
  • Padding
Changes apply immediately to all product pages.
