Email capture

Email capture is the collection of a shopper’s email address, with their consent, so a store can contact them after they leave. Most stores capture emails through discount pop-ups, account creation or checkout; try-on tools add another route, asking for an address at the moment a shopper has just seen a product on themselves.

Why the try-on moment suits capture

A shopper who uploads a photo to see a product on themselves has shown more intent than someone skimming a collection page. Asking for an email at that point — for instance, to send them their try-on result — offers something the shopper actually wants, rather than a generic percentage-off pop-up. It also ties the address to a specific product, which makes the follow-up email concrete instead of a broadcast.

Consent and follow-up

Email capture only works as opt-in. The shopper should know what they are agreeing to receive; privacy law in many markets requires consent before marketing email, and an unsubscribe route in every message is expected almost everywhere. Captured addresses are only worth what you do with them: a follow-up that references the product the shopper tried on, sent while they still remember it, beats a newsletter subscription that starts weeks later.

Email capture in Looksy

Looksy’s Email Follow-Up collects addresses from shoppers who try products on, then passes them to Klaviyo or Shopify Flow, so the follow-up runs in tools you already use. It is included from the Starter plan at $14.99 a month; the Free plan does not include it. Looksy publishes no capture-rate benchmarks — compare it against your existing sign-up forms using your email platform’s own reporting.
