TryPoint is built by a video company. Here's the full picture.
TryPoint launched in December 2025. It's built by TouchPoints Inc. — the same company behind VideoPoint.ai, a shoppable AI video platform with 500+ brand customers. VideoPoint has real traction: conversion testimonials, enterprise partnerships, and a proven product in shoppable video.
TryPoint is their VTO extension. It's not a company that built its foundation on virtual try-on — it's a video commerce company that added VTO to its suite. That's not a disqualifier. But it's context every merchant should have before they decide.
If you're already a VideoPoint customer and want to add VTO from the same vendor, TryPoint makes clear sense. If you're evaluating VTO on its own merits — purpose-built vs. bolted-on is a real question.
Five stars. Five reviews. All within 2.5 months of launch.
TryPoint launched December 2025 and has 5 five-star reviews. VideoPoint.ai has 500+ existing brand customers. These reviews almost certainly come from merchants who already use VideoPoint — existing customers trying a new product from a company they already trust. That's not the same as a merchant who had a VTO problem, searched the App Store, and chose TryPoint over other options.
This isn't to say those reviewers are wrong. It means TryPoint hasn't yet been battle-tested by merchants who came to it cold. By contrast: Looksy's reviews come from merchants who found the app independently and chose it for a specific reason. They report what changed in their store. That's a different kind of signal.
Where does the try-on actually happen?
TryPoint uses Shopify App Blocks — which means the try-on button lives on your product page. That's a positive. But the try-on experience itself opens in an overlay.
The button is on the page. The experience isn't.
With Looksy, the try-on happens in-page. No modal, no new window, no overlay interrupting the purchase journey. The shopper sees the product on themselves without leaving the product page. This is a meaningful architectural distinction — not a minor UX preference. A seamless in-page experience removes one more moment of friction between "I want to see this on me" and "add to cart."
What TryPoint covers — and what it doesn't
TryPoint's App Store description: "Let shoppers try on garments." Garments. Not eyewear. Not jewelry. Not furniture. Not homeware. If your store sells anything outside of fashion apparel, TryPoint won't cover it.
Looksy works across: Fashion / apparel, Eyewear (sunglasses, glasses frames), Jewelry and accessories, Furniture and homeware.
If you sell a full catalogue — or if your category isn't fashion — this matters.
In fairness: where TryPoint is the right choice
VideoPoint ecosystem fit. If you already use VideoPoint.ai for shoppable video, TryPoint is the natural same-vendor VTO extension. One company, one integration, one support team. That's a genuine convenience advantage.
Company velocity. TouchPoints Inc. has shipped a real product with real enterprise traction in shoppable video. That company quality means TryPoint will be actively developed, not orphaned. They have the resources to iterate.
Fashion depth. If your entire catalogue is garments — no accessories, no home goods, no eyewear — and you want VTO from a company with fashion technology at its core, TryPoint is a focused choice.
If you're already embedded in the VideoPoint ecosystem, TryPoint deserves serious consideration. For everyone else, the question is whether purpose-built matters to you.
VTO built for one thing: getting shoppers to click Add to Cart.
Looksy doesn't do shoppable video. It doesn't do email analytics. It doesn't do loyalty points. It does virtual try-on — for any product type, in 15 seconds, from day one.
