Virtual try-on in Turkish

Turkish is one of the 47 languages Looksy's Shopify App Store listing enumerates. For merchants selling to Turkish-speaking shoppers, this page covers what is published, what to check yourself, and how to set up.

Turkish shoppers and your product pages

Turkish is the official language of Turkey and one of the two official languages of Cyprus. It has used the Latin alphabet since the 1928 script reform, with the letters ç, ğ, ı, İ, ö, ş, and ü. The dotless ı and dotted İ are a famous software gotcha: naive uppercase and lowercase conversion breaks them, so check any theme that transforms button text to capitals. Turkish is also agglutinative — suffixes stack onto word stems — so translated strings can grow noticeably longer than their English equivalents.

What Looksy's language support covers

Looksy's App Store listing enumerates 47 supported languages, and Turkish is on that list. The listing stops there: it does not spell out whether translation reaches the shopper-facing try-on flow, the merchant dashboard, or both. Treat that as something to verify rather than assume — the Free plan costs nothing, so switch your storefront to Turkish and walk the whole flow yourself before mentioning it in your marketing. The try-on result itself needs no translation at all; a rendered image of the shopper in your product is legible to anyone.

Setting up for Turkish-speaking shoppers

In Shopify's admin, add Turkish as a published store language, then drop Looksy's block into your product template via the theme app extension — it requires no theme code edits and uninstalls cleanly. Test on the Free plan's unlimited try-ons. Pay particular attention to capitalized microcopy: themes that force uppercase can corrupt ı and İ if the font or CSS handles Turkish casing badly. Also confirm that ş and ğ render in your chosen typefaces instead of falling back to a mismatched font mid-word.

The try-on flow in any language

From the shopper's side the flow is short: upload one photo, wait roughly 20 seconds, and the try-on result appears directly on the product page — no app to install, no account to create, no camera permission requested. Retry, feedback, download, and share are built in. Pricing starts free, with unlimited try-ons, Looksy branding, and up to $100 in additional revenue, then moves through Starter at $14.99 per month, Growth at $29, and Scale at $79, where realtime video try-on becomes available. Everything bills through Shopify, usage-based, with no contracts.
