Virtual try-on in Spanish

Spanish is one of the 47 languages enumerated on Looksy's Shopify App Store listing. If your store serves Spanish-speaking shoppers in Spain or Latin America, this page covers what to verify and how the try-on works.

Spanish shoppers and your product pages

Spanish is the primary language of Spain and most of Latin America, from Mexico to Argentina. It is written in the Latin alphabet with accented vowels, the ñ, and an inverted opening question mark (¿) — small marks that occasionally trip up fonts or truncated labels. Address matters too: the tú-usted distinction sets the tone of store copy, and regional norms differ — vosotros in Spain, ustedes across Latin America. Vocabulary shifts by market as well, so a store selling to both Madrid and Mexico City should read its copy with both audiences in mind.

What Looksy's language support covers

The App Store listing places Spanish in Looksy's 47-language enumeration, but it stops there: how much of the experience is translated — the shopper-facing widget, the merchant dashboard, or both — is not published. So check rather than assume. Install on the Free plan, switch your storefront to Spanish, and run a try-on end to end, reading every piece of microcopy a shopper would meet. Keep in mind what carries the feature either way: the output is a picture of the shopper in your product, and images do not need translating.

Setting up for Spanish-speaking shoppers

In Shopify's admin, set Spanish as the store language or add it for the markets that need it. Add Looksy's try-on block through the theme editor — it ships as a theme app extension, so there are no theme code edits and a clean uninstall. Then use the Free plan's unlimited try-ons to test properly: upload a photo, follow the flow, and check that button labels, prompts, and any accented characters render well in your theme's typeface. If you sell to several Spanish-speaking markets, run the check per market storefront rather than once.

The try-on flow in any language

The flow itself is identical in every language. A shopper uploads a single photo and gets the result on the product page in around 20 seconds, with no app, no account, and no camera permission required. Retry, feedback, download, and share are built in. Plans: Free with unlimited try-ons, Looksy branding, and a $100 additional-revenue cap; Starter at $14.99 per month; Growth at $29; Scale at $79 with realtime video try-on and no revenue cap. Everything bills through Shopify on usage — no contracts to sign.
