Virtual try-on in Korean
Korean is among the 47 languages Looksy enumerates on its Shopify App Store listing. For merchants selling to Korean-speaking shoppers, this page covers what is confirmed, what to verify yourself, and how the try-on flow works.
Korean shoppers and your product pages
Korean is the primary language of South Korea and North Korea. It is written in Hangul, an alphabet created in the fifteenth century whose letters are grouped into syllable blocks rather than strung out in a line, giving Korean text a compact, grid-like appearance. Unlike Japanese, Korean does use spaces between words. The language is also known for its system of speech levels — the ending of a sentence changes how politely it lands — so store copy addressed to customers conventionally uses polite forms, and that convention extends to any text near your try-on widget.
What Looksy's language support covers
The listing's enumeration of 47 supported languages includes Korean. It does not spell out the depth of that support — the published page does not distinguish shopper-facing interface translation from merchant dashboard translation, so treat depth as something to check rather than assume. The Free plan's unlimited try-ons exist for exactly this: switch your storefront to Korean, run the flow as a shopper, and read every string. And remember what the product actually shows — a photo of the customer in the garment, which communicates without any Korean at all.
Setting up for Korean-speaking shoppers
Add Korean under Settings, then Languages in Shopify admin, and publish it so the storefront serves it. Looksy's widget arrives as a theme app extension block: place it on your product template in the theme editor, with no theme code edits and a clean uninstall if you change course. Test on the Free plan before spending anything — confirm Hangul renders correctly in the fonts your theme applies, watch for syllable blocks falling back to a mismatched system typeface mid-sentence, and check that your own button microcopy reads naturally in a polite register.
The try-on flow in any language
Looksy's published mechanics stay the same whatever language the storefront speaks. A shopper uploads a single photo and sees the result on the product page in roughly 20 seconds, with no app to install, no account to create, and no camera permission to grant. Retry, feedback, download, and share are built in. Plans run from Free — unlimited try-ons with Looksy branding — through Starter at $14.99 and Growth at $29 to Scale at $79 per month, the tier that adds realtime video try-on. Billing is usage-based through Shopify, without contracts.
