What metrics should I track after launching try-on?
Track the funnel Looksy’s analytics report — what shoppers try on, add to cart, and buy — plus additional revenue against your plan’s cap and email captures, then compare everything to a pre-launch baseline from your own Shopify data.
The core funnel: try-ons, carts, purchases
Start with the three stages Looksy’s analytics are built around: what shoppers try on, what they add to cart, and what they buy. Watch the absolute counts to see whether shoppers are finding and using the feature at all, then the step-to-step rates — try-on to add-to-cart, and add-to-cart to purchase — to see whether results are persuading anyone. A high try-on count with a weak cart rate points at result quality or pricing; low try-on counts point at placement or awareness. Check the dashboard itself for how far the numbers break down, for example per product or per period, before you design reports around a granularity it may not offer.
Revenue: additional revenue, order value, plan fit
Looksy meters additional revenue as part of its plans — Free caps it at $100, Starter at $500, Growth at $1,000, and Scale is unlimited — so the number is worth tracking for two reasons. First, it is the app’s own measure of what try-on is contributing. Second, it tells you when you are approaching a plan ceiling and should upgrade. Pair it with average order value from Shopify analytics, especially if you use Bundles & Upsells, which exist to grow each order; if bundles are working, AOV on try-on products should move even when order counts stay flat.
Quality and list-growth signals: retries, feedback, emails
Three signals sit outside the purchase funnel but predict where it is heading. Shoppers can retry a try-on and leave feedback when a result misses; those are your most direct reads on output quality, so check in the app whether and how Looksy surfaces them to you. Email captures from Email Follow-Up measure list growth you can act on in Klaviyo or Shopify Flow, and matter most for shoppers who tried on but did not buy. Finally, watch return rate in Shopify over a longer window; returns move slowly, so give them a full return cycle before drawing conclusions.
Comparing fairly: baselines instead of benchmarks
Looksy publishes no benchmark numbers, and no A/B testing feature appears on its listing, so your comparison has to come from your own store. Two honest setups work. Before-and-after: compare equal-length periods on the same products, avoiding weeks distorted by sales, promotions, or seasonality. Or a product cohort, if you enable try-on on only part of the catalog: compare conversion and AOV against similar products without it, using Shopify analytics alongside Looksy’s numbers. Either way, decide the comparison window before launch and let it run; judging try-on on a few days of data mostly measures noise.
