What languages does virtual try-on support?

Looksy's virtual try-on supports 47 languages. Translation covers the widget itself — the upload prompt, buttons and messages shoppers see on the product page. Your product titles and size charts appear in whatever languages your store publishes.

The short answer: 47 languages

Looksy's try-on widget supports 47 languages. The translated part is the interface the shopper actually touches: the button on the product page, the photo upload prompt, and the messages a shopper sees while the result renders. Looksy installs as a Shopify theme app extension, so the widget sits inside your storefront rather than redirecting shoppers to a separate site — the try-on stays in the same language context as the rest of the product page.

What gets translated — and what comes from your store

It helps to separate two layers. Looksy translates its own interface strings. Everything else the shopper reads — product titles, descriptions, prices, and the size charts that power Size Help — comes from your store, so it appears in whatever languages you have published. If you sell in French but your size chart only exists in English, the widget's buttons will be French while the chart stays English. Translating your own content is your job; Looksy does not translate product data for you.

Selling in several languages on one Shopify store

Shopify lets one store publish several languages, and shoppers browse in the locale they picked. The practical question is whether every locale you publish is among Looksy's 47. Rather than working from a list, test it directly: the Free plan has no monthly fee, so you can install Looksy, open a product page in each published language, and see exactly what the widget shows. That takes minutes per locale and tells you more than any compatibility table, because you are looking at your own theme, your own products and your own translations.

If your storefront language is not one of the 47

Be honest about how much it matters for your store. The try-on result is a picture, so the image itself is language-neutral — the gap is in the interface strings around it, which may not appear in that shopper's language. For some stores that is an acceptable rough edge; for stores where local-language trust is what gets a shopper to checkout, it is not. If full localisation in your language is non-negotiable and a test shows Looksy does not provide it, choose accordingly — Looksy is open about who it suits and who it does not, and this is a legitimate dealbreaker.
