What is a try-on credit?

One credit is one generated try-on. Your monthly plan includes a fixed number of them: Looksy gives 25 on the free Preview plan, then 100 on Starter, 300 on Growth and 600 on Scale.

Why these apps meter by usage

Generating an image costs the app real compute every time a shopper asks for one, so try-on pricing is usage-based rather than seat-based. That is good for a small store — you are not paying enterprise rates for a catalog of forty products — and it means your bill tracks how much shoppers actually use the feature.

Ask what consumes a credit

Before you commit to a plan, ask the developer what draws down the balance: a first generation, a retry on the same product, the same shopper trying a second product. Different apps answer this differently, and the answer changes your effective monthly volume more than the headline number does.

Estimating how many you need

Work from product-page sessions rather than plan names. Take monthly sessions on the products you plan to enable, assume a small fraction will try the feature, and start one tier below what that suggests. It is easier to move up after a month of real data than to pay for headroom you never touch.

What happens when you hit the limit

With Looksy you keep going at a per-try-on rate rather than stopping: $0.14 on Starter, $0.12 on Growth, $0.10 on Scale. Plans are usage-based, have no contract, and cancel from Shopify. Check that any app you are considering behaves the same way, because a hard stop mid-month is a worse outcome than a small overage.
