What are try-on bundles and upsells?
Try-on bundles and upsells suggest complementary products while a shopper is mid try-on, so someone trying a jacket sees the matching top suggested alongside and can add both to cart. The aim is a larger order, not more traffic.
What the shopper actually sees
A shopper uploads one photo on your product page and sees the item on themselves in the browser — no app download, no account. With bundles enabled, Looksy suggests complementary products from your catalogue alongside the result: the trousers that go with the shirt, the bag that goes with the coat. Instead of hunting for each piece separately, the shopper can build the look in one visit and put several items in the cart before leaving the page.
Why a bundle lands better than a checkout pop-up
A standard upsell is a pop-up at checkout, easy to dismiss because it interrupts. A try-on bundle arrives while the shopper is already looking at themselves wearing your product, so a complementary suggestion reads as styling help rather than a sales tactic. It also answers a question product pages handle badly: what does this go with? Whether that turns into larger orders depends on your catalogue — bundles need products that genuinely combine, which is why they suit apparel and accessories better than stores built around a single hero item.
Which plans include bundles, and the revenue caps
Bundles and upsells are not part of the Free plan, which covers unlimited try-ons with Looksy branding and up to $100 of additional revenue. They arrive with Starter at $14.99 a month, alongside email capture and unlimited size help, and carry through Growth at $29 and Scale at $79. Every plan below Scale caps the additional revenue it can generate — $100 on Free, $500 on Starter, $1,000 on Growth — while Scale is uncapped. If bundles do their job and push additional revenue past your plan's ceiling, the fix is moving up a tier, not switching the feature off.
Turning bundles on and reading the results
Looksy installs as a Shopify theme app extension, so switching bundles on is a settings change, not a theme code edit, and it uninstalls cleanly if you stop. Once live, Analytics shows what shoppers try on, add to cart and buy; set that against your Shopify order data to see whether orders that began with a try-on carry more items than the rest. We do not publish an average order-value uplift — there is no honest single number across categories — so judge bundles on your own store's numbers after a few weeks of normal traffic.
