How do I compare Looksy plans mid-year?

Compare three numbers from your recent months: credit usage against your plan's allowance, extra-credit spend against the next plan's price difference, and tracked additional revenue against your plan's cap. Billing is usage-based through Shopify, so switching is low-friction.

The published numbers behind every plan decision

A mid-year review runs on four published plans. Free: unlimited try-ons with Looksy branding and up to $100 of additional revenue. Starter: $14.99 per month for 100 photo try-on credits, up to $500 of additional revenue, branding removal, unlimited size, bundles and email capture, extra credits at $0.14. Growth: $29 for 300 photo credits, up to $1,000 of additional revenue, extra credits at $0.12. Scale: $79 for 600 photo or video credits, unlimited additional revenue, Realtime video try on, extra credits at $0.10. The review compares your actual usage and tracked revenue against these allowances and caps — nothing more exotic.

Do the extra-credit math against the next plan up

The clearest upgrade signal is arithmetic. Starter to Growth costs $14.01 more per month; at $0.14 per extra credit, that is roughly 100 extra credits. If you routinely buy that many on Starter, Growth costs about the same and includes 200 more credits at a lower $0.12 rate for extras. Growth to Scale is a $50 jump — roughly 417 extra credits at $0.12 — a higher bar, but Scale also removes the additional-revenue cap entirely. Pull your last two or three Shopify invoices, total what you spent on extra credits, and compare it to the price difference. If the extras cost more, the upgrade pays for itself.

Caps and features that make the choice for you

Some signals are not gradual. If tracked additional revenue keeps hitting your plan's cap — $100 on Free, $500 on Starter, $1,000 on Growth — the plan is capping the feature's contribution, and the next tier is the answer. If Looksy branding on the try-on experience no longer fits your store, that alone requires Starter or above. If you want Realtime video try on, only Scale offers it, alongside 600 credits usable for photo or video. The reverse also applies: if you are nowhere near your credit allowance or revenue cap and use none of the paid-tier features, a lower plan fits better.

Why a mid-year switch is a small decision

Looksy bills usage-based through Shopify with no contracts, so a plan change is not a commitment you have to get right for a year. That makes the honest approach a periodic review rather than a one-time choice: pull your recent invoices, check the additional revenue Looksy has tracked against your cap, run the extra-credit math, and move when the numbers say so. If you are unsure how a mid-cycle change is billed or how credits behave when you switch plans, ask Looksy support rather than assuming — those mechanics are not published, and guessing is how billing surprises happen.
