How do smart size suggestions work?

Your size charts do the work

Size Help runs on the size charts you already maintain in Shopify. When a shopper opens a product, Looksy reads that product's chart and bases its suggestion on it, so two products with different charts produce different answers. That is the point of using your charts rather than a generic size database: generic databases assume every brand cuts garments the same way, and they do not. It also means suggestion quality tracks chart quality. If a chart is missing, outdated or copied from a supplier who measures differently, fix the chart first — no tool can suggest its way past wrong measurements.

What the shopper sees on the product page

Size guidance sits inside the same experience as photo try-on: on the product page, in the browser, added through Looksy's theme app extension. The shopper does not download an app, create an account or grant live camera access. They see how the item looks on them and get help choosing a size in the same place, before add to cart — the "does it suit me" and "will it fit" questions answered together. Your theme code is untouched; the extension injects the experience and removes itself cleanly if you ever uninstall.

Which plans include size help

Unlimited size help arrives with the Starter plan at $14.99 a month, alongside bundles and email capture, and stays unlimited on Growth at $29 and Scale at $79. Because it is unlimited rather than metered, a shopper checking their size does not draw down your photo try-on credits. The Free plan covers unlimited try-ons with Looksy branding but does not list size help, so if fit questions drive your support tickets or your returns, Starter is the practical entry point. There is no annual billing — every plan is monthly.

Where a chart-based suggestion falls short

A suggestion built from garment charts suits clothing best. Prescription eyewear is the clear exception: fitting glasses properly requires a pupillary distance (PD) measurement, and eyewear specialist tools that measure PD beat a general try-on tool for that job. Looksy shows how frames look on a face, not whether lenses will sit correctly over the pupils. Ring sizing is similarly physical — a chart helps, a sizer at home helps more. And no suggestion outruns a bad chart: if several products share one vague chart, every suggestion inherits that vagueness. Tight charts produce useful suggestions; thin ones do not.
