Can I run try-on only during peak season?

Yes. Looksy bills monthly through Shopify with no contracts, so you can move up a plan for your peak months and step back down after. The decision is a plan change, not a new commitment.

Why monthly billing fits a seasonal peak

Every Looksy plan is month to month with no contract, billed through Shopify. That makes the decision reversible: move to Growth or Scale before your busy period, then step back down once traffic settles, and the charge changes with your plan. There is no annual commitment to buy out. The cost of running try-on hard for a season is the plan price for those months plus any additional credits you use at the published per-credit rate.

Sizing credits for the peak months

Credit use rises with try-on volume, and volume peaks with traffic, so your busiest months are also your most credit-hungry. Starter includes 100 photo credits, Growth 300, and Scale 600 photo or video credits; additional credits cost $0.14, $0.12, and $0.10 respectively. If a peak month would burn through Starter's allowance plus heavy overage, price Growth or Scale against the same volume — larger allowances and lower overage rates can come out cheaper. Do that arithmetic against expected try-on volume before the season starts, not in the middle of it.

Three off-season positions: Free plan, block removed, or uninstalled

You have three positions for the off-season. Downgrade to Free and leave try-on live — unlimited try-ons continue, with Looksy branding on results and up to $100 of additional revenue on that plan. Or keep the app installed but remove the block from product pages in the theme editor, since Looksy is a theme app extension placed there with no code edits. Or uninstall entirely — the uninstall is clean — though that is the heaviest option when you know you are coming back next season.

Check what a downgrade preserves before you rely on it

Looksy does not publish whether stepping down a plan keeps your configuration — which products have try-on enabled, block placement, button copy — intact for next season, or what happens to a paid plan's remaining credits when you change plans mid-cycle. Before you build a seasonal routine around a downgrade, check both in the app or ask support. Proration and the timing of the final charge for a cancelled month sit with Shopify's billing system, so an unexpected amount on the bill is a Shopify admin question rather than an app setting.
